A Passion for the Presence of God

Can you imagine not talking with the person you love most in this world? Not talking with your spouse or your Mom or your Dad or your best friend? We would not have a very good relationship with someone if we never spoke to that person. It’s the same in our relationship with God. We cannot get to know God if we never speak to Him. We can study the Bible and learn all about God, but if we do not pray, we can never have a close relationship. And the way that we talk to God is through PRAYER. It is vital in our walk of faith. Jesus spoke often about praying and modeled prayer for us so that we can understand. He prayed for others and with others and also spent a great deal of time in prayer alone with God the Father.

Tomball UMC is truly a house of prayer. The PRAYER MINISTRY is a very powerful and important part of the life of this church. The men and women who are involved in the PRAYER MINISTRY believe in the power of prayer and passionately seek the presence of God through prayer. Come and join us in the PRAYER MINISTRY. • Prayer Team

Meets in the Prayer Room (FB-1) in the Faith Bldg every Wednesday, 6:00pm—7:00pm. This group prays for the life of the church and the community. They also pray over all prayer request that are received each week.

• Prayer Email Team

This group prays over weekly prayer request cards and also any requests received during the week.

• Prayer Phone Team

This group prays over special prayer requests.

• Heartfelt Stitchers—Prayer Blanket Ministry

This group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, Sep thru May, in FB 7 & 9. They create prayer blankets and shawls which are prayed over and then delivered, along with a prayer booklet, to anyone who is sick or hurting. These blankets are quilted or knitted or crocheted.
