Tomball Community Garden

The garden is located on our 20 acres just to the east of our campus buildings and provides fresh produce to TEAM through the hard work of volunteers from the community.

During this time of COVID 19, we are keeping our work crews at a skeletal level.  We work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 until 10:00 am.  If you are interested in volunteering, please make arrangements with Dale Reid prior to the work day at tomballgarden@gmail.com.  We want to make sure that only a small number will be volunteering on any given day.  Please honor our efforts to keep every one safe by social distancing even in the Garden.

Work days in the garden are Thursdays, 8:30 am – 9:30 am.

All are welcome to join!

Manna Bags

Manna bags are knapsacks filled with food, water, toiletries, and scriptural guidance to be given out to the homeless in our community.  The manna bags are assembled by the Saints Alive Sunday School class on an “as needed” basis.  Please contact the church office if you have any questions regarding this ministry area.

Please feel free to take a bag and put in your car for the next time you want to witness to the homeless in our community.  Filled manna bags are kept in the narthex of the sanctuary building.

T.e.a.m.

TEAM operates a resale shop, food pantry, and an assistance ministry. We provide short-term assistance with food, clothing, shelter, rent and utilities, as well as medical, dental and prescription needs. TEAM is a ministry and, as such, provides assistance based on legitimate and thoroughly vetted needs. TEAM receives no government funding, yet more than 90% of all donations go directly to meet client needs. This is only possible through volunteer support, and food and financial donations from members of the Tomball community.

Backpack Ministry

Our backpack ministry provides food for children who participate in the school lunch program during the week and may not have enough to eat on the weekend.  We administer this ministry through the counselors with Tomball Elementary, Decker Prairie Elementary, & Rosehill Elementary so that students/families confidentiality is maintained.  We send home enough food for a family of four to have two meals each weekend.

Currently we purchase our food through the “shopper program” at HEB – Tomball store; and the bags are packed by the four amazing boy scout troops who meet at our church. (See information about these troops on our Community Outreach page).  We also have amazing volunteers who drive the backpack to the schools on Friday and deliver them to the counselor’s office who then distributes them to the students.  We are always in need of drivers.

If you are interested in being a part of this program please click on the button to send information to the coordinator of this program.

Thanksgiving in a Sack

Each year at Thanksgiving we provide 100- 150 bags of “sides” for a Thanksgiving Dinner to clients at Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM).  Each member that would like to participate takes a sack and fills it with the items listed on the outside of the bag and returns to the church by a certain date.  We need people to help load and deliver the bags of “sides” to TEAM so they can add a turkey and distribute to their clients.  If you are interested in helping with this project please click on the link to the form.

Hope Center

Hope Center is a resource center for the homeless that provides meals, laundry, clothing, life skill classes, counseling, computer access, AA, prayer, bible study, chapel & more.

We are providing a hot meal to their clients once a quarter. We prepare the meals at TUMC and take them to the center and serve the clients.  We need individuals who are willing to cook, those willing to serve food (certification required through the State of Texas), and individuals who are willing to just visit with the clients and share a meal with them at the Center.
